This winter, Shymkent residents and visitors will be able to enjoy three open-air ice rinks. Two facilities are nearing completion, while the rink on Astana Square has already opened to the public.
The first rink, covering 550 square meters, will be located near the “Muz Saraiy” Ice Palace on Baitursynov Street. It will serve as a convenient leisure destination for families and fans of active recreation.
The second rink will be built along the Arbat alley. Its area of 1,830 square meters makes it one of the largest open-air ice rinks in the city.
In addition, a new ice rink on Astana Square has already begun operating. It will be open daily and is expected to become a central venue for winter and New Year events.
According to forecasts, the three rinks combined will attract 70,000 to 90,000 visitors each month, significantly expanding opportunities for winter activities in the city.
All facilities are being developed through private investment, with partner companies able to partially recoup expenses by offering paid services.
The launch of the three ice rinks marks an important milestone in the development of Shymkent’s winter infrastructure, providing residents with new opportunities for active and enjoyable recreation.
