From 4 to 6 July 2026, the Visit Shymkent Tourist Information Centre organised a three-day masterclass for travel bloggers and content creators.
The main objectives of the event were to develop young people’s skills in modern digital content creation, increase their interest in tourism, and nurture a new generation of content creators capable of promoting Shymkent’s tourism potential through high-quality media content.
More than 40 young people actively involved in content creation in Shymkent took part in the masterclass. The invited coach and trainer was Talғat Bekmagambetov (Talashin), a well-known Kazakhstani videographer, travel blogger, and media trainer, who shared his professional experience with the participants.
The three-day programme included theoretical and practical sessions on creating high-quality social media content, shot composition, filming with mobile devices and professional cameras, effective drone use, video editing, storytelling, producing videos for Reels and TikTok, personal brand development, and effective audience engagement.
During the practical sessions, participants filmed at Shymkent’s tourist attractions and landmarks, learning the techniques of professional content creation under expert guidance. Each participant also presented their work and received professional feedback and recommendations.
The masterclass was an important initiative aimed at developing young people’s creative potential, improving the quality of digital content in the tourism sector, and promoting Shymkent’s appeal as a tourist destination through social media.
