A three-day international press tour has officially started in Shymkent, aiming to promote the city’s growing tourism potential. The event brings together 30 bloggers and media representatives from Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and various regions of Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the press tour is to strengthen Shymkent’s image in domestic and international media by showcasing the city’s historical, cultural, and tourist attractions.
📍 Day 1: Exploring Ancient Sairam
The participants began their journey with a visit to Sairam (Isfidjab), one of the key historical centers of the Great Silk Road. The day’s program included visits to:
- the “Shym-Qala” Historical and Cultural Complex,
- the “Altyn Orda” Art Gallery,
- and a demonstration of national sports (kokpar, zhamby atu) at the Shymkent Hippodrome.
In the evening, the delegation learned about the Miras Tazalyq ecological initiative and enjoyed a walk through Arbat, one of the city’s most beloved public spaces.
Day 2: Spiritual Heritage and Natural Landscapes
On the second day, the guests visited:
- the Seitzhan Kari Yeszhanuly Grand Mosque,
- one of the city’s highest viewpoints — the Baidibek Batyr Monument,
- the Dendrological Park,
- the Shymkent Zoo,
- and the greenhouse complex “Banan Bau”.
The visitors praised the region’s strong potential for ecotourism and family recreation.
🎏 Day 3: Concluding with the Kite Festival
The final day of the tour will take place in ShymCity Park, where participants will attend the vibrant Kite Festival. Bloggers and media representatives will engage with local residents in an informal setting and explore Shymkent’s modern cultural and leisure infrastructure.
