Park Abay
Description: Park «Abay» is the Central Park of Culture and Recreation in our city, making it the ideal spot for the whole family. With numerous attractions, tennis courts, and football fields, it’s a fantastic location for active and group outings. The park also offers unlimited Wi-Fi service, allowing visitors to stay connected at all times.
Located in the heart of the city, Park «Abay» attracts visitors with its welcoming atmosphere and variety of entertainment options. Within the park is the famous «Dańq» memorial, dedicated to all defenders of Kazakhstan. This monument, inaugurated in honor of the 65th anniversary of Victory, plays an important role in educating younger generations and honoring the heroism of our people.

Dendropark
Description: The Dendropark in Shymkent is one of the largest and most picturesque parks in Kazakhstan, making it an ideal place for outdoor relaxation. Opened in 1979, this park provides excellent opportunities for picnics, photo sessions, and strolls, which remain popular today.
The Dendropark is home to over 500,000 trees and approximately 1 million shrubs, including around 360,000 different plant species, featuring rare and exotic varieties found nowhere else in Kazakhstan. For active recreation enthusiasts, the park offers dedicated cycling and horseback riding trails, as well as attractions that add fun for the entire family.

Zhailau Kol Park
Description: Shymkent Altyn Eye, 50 meters high, adorns our city and serves for the benefit of the people. The attraction, equipped with 18 covered cabins, is designed for 108 people. Each cabin has a special fan that provides warmth in winter and coolness in summer. An audio tour and broadcast of announcements are available during the movement. The attraction rotates in space for 15 minutes. With this attraction, guests can admire the city from a height of 50 meters. The attraction is one of the highest in the CIS. And it belongs to the largest gaming element in Asia. In addition to the giant swing, this park also has 15 different game elements.

Victory Park
Description: «Victory» Park was opened in 1985 in honor of the 40th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and spans an area of 2 hectares. This place, rich in memory and respect, is ideal for family outings and leisurely strolls.
The park is adorned with 1,570 rose bushes, as well as saffron and salvia flowers, creating an atmosphere of beauty and warmth. For active visitors, there is a fountain, an exercise area, a children’s playground, and a café serving national cuisine, where guests can enjoy delicious local dishes.
Special attention in the park is given to monuments with educational significance. At the entrance stands a commemorative monument with a crane, dedicated to the renowned General Sabir Rakhimov, which adds historical importance to this place.

Shymkent Zoo
Description: Founded in 1979, the Shymkent Zoo is one of the city’s and region's main attractions. Its official opening date is recorded as April 29, 1980. The zoo covers a total area of 54 hectares, with 34 hectares dedicated to the exhibition zone, where a picturesque park has been created, featuring 3,500 decorative and 50 fruit trees, along with 10 varieties of tea-hybrid roses. The zoo’s first collection included 75 species of animals and birds. Today, the number of species continues to grow, with an array of deer, argali, ponies, tigers, pythons, lions, and other wildlife.
The Shymkent Zoo is a unique haven of wildlife. Since July 2010, it has been a member of the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums. One of the zoo’s main goals is to protect and increase the populations of endangered animals listed in the Red Book. The zoo staff offer guided tours, deliver lectures, and share their expertise with visitors through biologists and specialists.

Kenbaba Family Park
Description: Kenbaba Family Park – a place of joy and fun for the whole family. For young visitors, there is an amusement area and a spacious playground. On hot Shymkent days, a stroll among the fountains and ponds with swans gliding by, accompanied by the soothing sound of a snowy waterfall, provides a refreshing escape and rejuvenates the spirit. The park features cozy cafés and souvenir shops where guests can sample a variety of national dishes.

Park Nauryz
Description: Park Nauryz was opened in 1991 and covers an area of 8 hectares. In 2017, it underwent reconstruction and was reopened for the convenience of residents, with funding provided by the regional budget. The renovation addressed the irrigation issues for the lawns and included the installation of new marble tiles with travertine finishes. The entrance to the park was updated, and new benches were added, enhancing the park’s appeal as a relaxing destination.

Central Park
Description: «Central» Park was opened in 1925 and has long served as a symbol of culture and recreation in our city. The park features a fountain, an exercise area, a children's playground, and a variety of architectural forms, along with three large parking lots. In 2013, after renovations, the park received a completely new look. There are also designated areas for playing chess, adding diversity to visitors' leisure activities. A distinctive feature of Central Park is the operational «Veterans’ House», which provides all necessary amenities for the leisure and relaxation of the older generation.

Independence Park
Description: The grand opening of Independence Park took place in 2011 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. Located in the historical part of the city, the park features a majestic Triumphal Arch standing 15 meters tall. Along the central alley, plaques narrate significant events from the period of our country's independence. At the park's center stands the monument «El Birlik», situated on a giant granite pedestal adorned with a bas-relief depicting representatives from all ethnic groups living in the country. Visitors can also enjoy the «Altyn Shanyrak» monument and a fountain that dances to unique musical compositions, creating an atmosphere of celebration and harmony.

Park «SHYM CITY»
Description: Park «SHYM CITY», covering an area of over 45 hectares, has become one of the main attractions in the city. The park is divided into three sections: southern, central, and northern, each offering unique opportunities for relaxation and entertainment.
In the southern section, visitors are greeted by a majestic 10-meter-high arch serving as the main entrance, alongside the «Tulip» fountain complex, which creates a cozy and beautiful atmosphere. Pedestrian paths, cycling, and jogging tracks surround the park, with benches, workout areas, and children's playgrounds providing comfortable spaces for visitors of all ages.
The central area of the park features an artificial lake spanning 5,800 square meters, around which a food court offers a variety of culinary delights. An amphitheater is also located here, hosting cultural events and concerts. For those who enjoy active recreation, there is an amusement park with rides, as well as sports facilities that include football, basketball, and volleyball courts, along with a skate park.
The northern part of the park provides a serene and tranquil environment, perfect for leisurely walks and enjoying nature. This park has truly become a focal point for residents and visitors alike, offering a wide range of options for active and comfortable leisure activities.
ARBAT
Description: Arbat is a modern pedestrian zone located on Beybitshilik Avenue. Opened in June 2018 on December 1, Arbat has become a significant cultural and social space for citizens and tourists.
Arbat attracts visitors with its stylish architecture and cozy atmosphere. There are wide alleys framed with greenery and flower beds. The pedestrian zone is equipped with benches and lighting, which makes it an ideal place for strolling and relaxing. The atmosphere of Arbat promotes communication and cultural exchange among residents and guests of the city.
Arbat has become the center of cultural life in Shymkent, where various events, concerts, exhibitions and festivals are regularly held. This place attracts street performers and musicians, creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere. Here you can find street cafes and shops with local products, which adds color and uniqueness.
The Arbat has become not only a popular place among local residents, but also an important attraction for tourists wishing to enjoy the culture and atmosphere of the city.
«Metallurgists» Park
Description: «Metallurgists» Park is a place where anyone can immerse themselves in an atmosphere of coziness and tranquility, allowing for a refreshing escape for both body and soul. Reconstruction work is ongoing, and each day the park is transforming: monuments are being updated, picturesque pathways are being created, and vibrant flower beds are being added, making this space even more attractive for relaxation.
Once an old and neglected Metallurgists Park is becoming a modern and cozy recreation area while preserving historical elements. At its center stands a bronze sculpture of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, which remains untouched, serving as a reminder of the historical past.
The park features 59 comfortable benches, 112 trash bins, 4 covered gazebos for private relaxation, 2 workout areas for fitness enthusiasts, and 49 lamps that illuminate the park in the evening. Additionally, there are 9 streetlights that create a cozy and safe atmosphere. The total area of the park is 5 hectares and 36 ares.
Kazakhstan-Turkey Friendship Park
Description: On October 27, 2023, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey—our fraternal nation that was the first to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan—the park located in the 11th microdistrict was officially named «Қазақстан – Түркия достығы саябағы» (Kazakhstan-Turkey Friendship Park).
During the ceremonial gathering, the Mayor of the city, Gabit Syzdykbekov, delivered a welcoming speech. Congratulating the Republic of Turkey on its centenary as a brotherly nation that first recognized Kazakhstan's independence, he stated, «We have decided to name this park Kazakhstan-Turkey Friendship Park».
The mayor also expressed his hopes for the future: «May the cooperation and camaraderie between our two nations grow and transform into superpowers on the international stage!» he wished.
Kazakhstan-Turkey Friendship Park has become not only a place for leisure but also a beautiful corner for relaxation. It features comfortable walking areas and meeting spots, as well as playgrounds for children, making it an ideal destination for family outings.
River «Koshkar Ata»
Description: The «Koshkar Ata» River is a picturesque water body flowing through the surroundings of Shymkent. Known for its clean water and beautiful banks lined with trees and shrubs, it creates cozy, shaded spots for relaxation. The riverbank is adorned with greenery, making it an ideal location for picnics, strolls, and outdoor activities. Along the river runs a pedestrian alley, where visitors can enjoy the fresh air and picturesque views.

«Shamshi's World» Square
Description: Located in the heart of old Shymkent, next to the central market, the cozy square serves as a haven for music and culture enthusiasts. This square was established to honor the country's musical heritage, inviting visitors to bask in an atmosphere of creativity and inspiration.
At the center of the square stands a statue, beneath which begins the Alley of Stars. Here, 48 stars shine with the names of outstanding artists, composers, and poets who have made significant contributions to Kazakhstan's cultural history. Strolling through the square, one can feel the spirit of music in the air and remember those who have shared their works with the world.
Square attracts visitors with its diverse infrastructure. An outdoor stage hosts concerts and events, creating a vibrant atmosphere. A fountain, surrounded by lush green lawns and rose bushes, adds romance and coziness to the space. Each corner of the park is adorned with musical motifs: notes, rings, and bracelets symbolize the rich cultural heritage, creating a unique style.
The square has become an essential part of the city's cultural life, where everyone can find inspiration, enjoy music, and relax with friends and loved ones while immersing themselves in the magical world of art and music.
Technopark «World of Fantasy»
Description: One of the popular spots for leisure, evening strolls, and entertainment in Shymkent is the technopark «World of Fantasy». Established in 1999, this park has long been a favorite place for relaxation among both residents and visitors of the city.
The park spans 5 hectares and offers visitors around 30 diverse attractions. Among the most popular are the extreme «Pirate», the breathtaking «Wild Train», the bright and cheerful «Hammer», the airborne «Tarzan», as well as «Baiterek», «Maze», «Mowgli», «Jumping», and the impressive high slide «Niagara». During the summer months, the park attracts an average of up to 500 visitors per day.
In addition to attractions, the park offers other types of active recreation. Visitors can roller skate in a large indoor rink, enjoy singing favorite songs at the karaoke facility, or watch movies in 7D format at the cinema.
The park comes alive in winter too; in 2023, it hosted a New Year's celebration, with one of the city’s main Christmas trees set up at the entrance, creating a festive atmosphere for all visitors.
Ethnopark «Kazyna»
Description: Ethnopark «Kazyna» is a unique place in Shymkent that combines natural beauty with historical heritage. Located near the monument of Baidibek Bi, the «Kazyna» ethno-historical complex has become a popular spot for walks and relaxation, attracting both locals and visitors.

The park features over 15 types of trees, including pines, junipers, birches, and others that will eventually provide pleasant shade and a comfortable atmosphere.
Within the ethnopark are models of iconic monuments and mausoleums from the South Kazakhstan region. Visitors can see scale replicas of historically significant sites such as the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Otrar, Babadj Tukty Shashty Aziz, Keme-Kalgan, Arystan Bab, Ukash Ata, and Karashash Ana. These models immerse visitors in the past and offer a closer look at the region's history.
