A SPECIAL STUDENT TOUR ROUTE WAS PRESENTED IN TASHKENT


On February 27-28, 2025, the tourism potential of Shymkent was presented at a number of universities in Tashkent, and special tourist routes for students were offered. The meeting was attended by students from Alfraganus University, Tashkent davlat transport universiteti and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

The department will consider the issue of benefits for students of the above-mentioned educational institutions in the city's hotels, free access to tourist sites and guides. It is worth noting that at the meeting, in order to develop student tourism, a presentation was made about 8 festivals that will be held this year in Shymkent, and students showed interest in these festivals.

At the end of the event, an agreement was signed with the heads of universities to send students to Shymkent starting in March.
INFORMATION CORNERS HAVE BEEN OPENED IN BOROVOYE AND UST-KAMENOGORSK.


On February 22-23, 2025, in order to promote the tourism potential of Shymkent, special information corners were opened in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Burabai. This event involves familiarizing residents and guests of Shymkent with the tourism opportunities of Burabay and Ust-Kamenogorsk.

In the information corners, visitors can get detailed information about historical and cultural sites of Shymkent, entertainment centers, hotels, restaurants and tourist services. In addition, information about the gastronomic features and traditional festivals of Shymkent was presented, special maps, booklets and other information materials were distributed free of charge. This initiative will contribute to the development of Shymkent's tourism and strengthen mutual cooperation between Burabay and Ust-Kamenogorsk. Information corners play an important role in presenting Shymkent's tourism potential to residents and guests.
FRENCH ENTREPRENEURS IN SHYMKENT
Within the framework of the business forum, a B2B and G2B meeting was held with French entrepreneurs headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Giogue.Representatives of leading French companies EDF, Veolia, Az Syndicate, C3Medical, Dualest, ALMGT joint venture, Richel Group and the Franco-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFK) are interested in implementing a number of joint projects in Shymkent. During the meeting, proposals on tourism between Kazakhstan and France, the search for new partners for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the implementation of mutually beneficial projects between the two countries were discussed, and a number of memoranda were signed. This measure will contribute to the development of strategic partnership between the two countries.
A SERIES OF EVENTS HELD TO PROMOTE STUDENT TOURISM

On January 30–31, 2025, universities in Almaty hosted a presentation showcasing the tourism potential of Shymkent and special student tour packages. During the meetings, information was presented about eight festivals set to take place in the city this year, generating significant interest among students.

The events were attended by students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU), Almaty Management University (AlmaU), Almaty University of Engineering and Technology, Turan University, and the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism.

The Visit Shymkent Tourist Information Center explored the possibility of providing students from these universities with benefits when visiting tourist attractions in Shymkent, including free admission to certain sites.

Additionally, agreements were reached with university administrations, and bilateral agreements were signed to encourage student visits to Shymkent. The first group of students is expected to arrive in March.

Efforts to develop student tourism will continue in universities in Astana.

THE INTERNATIONAL "JIBEK JOLY" TOURIST TRAIN CONNECTING KAZAKHSTAN AND UZBEKISTAN HAS ARRIVED IN THE CITY OF SHYMKENT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
The international journey of the "Jibek Joly" tourist train, organized from January 2 to 6, 2025, continues along the route "Almaty-Turkistan-Tashkent-Samarkand-Shymkent-Almaty."
For the first time, the train stopped in the city of Shymkent, offering visiting tourists a unique exploration of the city's historical and cultural heritage. During their tour of the city's landmarks, the guests experienced the deep hospitality and rich traditions of the Kazakh people.
In particular, tourists visited the "Bal Tekstil" factory, where they witnessed the production of high-quality carpets and became acquainted with the works of skilled artisans. At the Beisbekov family gallery, visitors admired unique works of art and were inspired by the creative atmosphere of this family-based workshop.
Additionally, tourists explored the ancient Shymkent citadel, viewed its archaeological artifacts, and even had the chance to craft traditional Kazakh items with their own hands. As part of the trip, guests also visited the Seitjan Kari Eszhanuly Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Kazakhstan.
During the tour, the visitors enjoyed traditional Kazakh cuisine at the "Zheti Tandyr" and "Kausar" restaurants, expressing delight at dishes like kurt, kazy-karta, and baursak, as well as various national beverages.
This visit to Shymkent allowed the guests to experience the unique atmosphere of the Great Silk Road and delve into the richness of Kazakh culture. We are confident that this route will play a significant role in enhancing the tourism potential of Central Asia in the future.
As part of the celebration of the Republic Day, an exhibition of products of the subjects of the creative industry of Shymkent was organized
On October 24, 2024, the Department of Tourism, External Relations and Creative Industry of the city of Shymkent, together with the Creative Industry Association, held an exhibition of products from creative industry entities in the Tulip Hall concert hall as part of the celebration of the national holiday "Republic Day".
The exhibition was attended by 17 craftsmen of the city, who presented various jewelry, felt, knitted, leather, etc. products.
The main purpose of the exhibition was to support entrepreneurs of the creative industry in monetizing their products, the formation of creative products of the city of Shymkent and the popularization of handicrafts.
We remind you that to date, 2,430 creative industry entrepreneurs have been registered in the city. Of these, 540 are legal entities and 1,890 are individuals.
In order to develop and support handicrafts, the Akimat of Shymkent city holds exhibitions and fairs on a regular basis. This year, 10 fairs were held on Arbat pedestrian street with the participation of artisans of the city, at which 1,450 handmade products worth 2,780,000 tenge were sold.
Undoubtedly, such events contribute to the preservation of ancient types of crafts, support for the talents of young craftsmen and the development of the creative industry in the city of Shymkent.
