On July 19, the pedestrian alley Arbat hosted the city’s first-ever «Street Food Fest». This vibrant celebration of taste and atmosphere offered residents and guests a unique gastronomic experience, showcasing Shymkent’s street food culture from a fresh and exciting perspective.
The festival program featured chef masterclasses, street dance performances, live music, and a crafts fair, creating a lively and festive mood throughout the day. The highlight of the event was the preparation of a giant burger weighing 67 kilograms. This extraordinary burger was officially recorded in the «Records Book of Kazakhstan» as the largest hamburger in Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the festival was to promote Shymkent’s gastronomic culture, support local brands, and enhance the city’s tourism appeal.
As part of the event, a competition among local dining establishments was held, where the jury selected the best participants. The winners received memorable gifts and awards. The giant burger was later presented to the City Hotel, where it was shared with guests.
The festival became a true celebration of flavor, creativity, and good mood, emphasizing Shymkent’s modern, vibrant, and hospitable character.
