The building of the puppet theater, built in 1914, originally served as a Church of the Orthodox faith

The theater of puppets and young spectators in Shymkent was opened in 1983. The repertoire of the theater with a 41-year history has about 150 productions of domestic and foreign authors in Kazakh and Russian languages. These are: «Kerkula atty Kendebay» by A. Faizullauly, «Bird of Happiness» by A. Malyuchenko, «Skin and sport» by O. Aubakirov, «Aladdin’s Magic Lamp»

by N. Gernet, «Teremok» S. Geremet. Marshak and many other performances. The building of the puppet theater, built in 1914, initially served as a church of the Orthodox faith. In the theater season the city theater of puppets and young spectators goes on tour and puts on performances for children from orphanages and children with disabilities.
