The Republican Spartakiad among college students, dedicated to the 83rd anniversary of Academician Mardan Baymyrzayevich Saparbayev, has successfully concluded in Shymkent. This year, the major sporting event brought together participants from 12 regions of Kazakhstan and two major cities, uniting hundreds of talented students and their coaches.
As part of the program, guests were offered a sightseeing tour of Shymkent. The participants were introduced to the city’s key cultural, historical and tourist landmarks, experiencing the locations that shape the modern image of the megapolis.
During the tour, the students visited:
•central squares and renovated public spaces;
•significant cultural and architectural landmarks;
•modern sports facilities;
•tourist areas considered the signature attractions of the city.
Guests praised the high level of organisation, warm hospitality and the rich program prepared for their stay. Many noted that the tour provided an opportunity to discover Shymkent’s history and its dynamic development as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
The Republican Spartakiad became an important event in the sporting and educational sphere of Kazakhstan, strengthening interregional cooperation and offering a platform for communication, experience exchange and the promotion of student sports.
Once again, Shymkent demonstrated its status as a welcoming megapolis capable of hosting events of national importance and supporting youth initiatives at the highest level.
