On September 27, 2025, Shymkent celebrated World Tourism Day with an Open Day event held at the ShymQala Historical and Cultural Complex. The celebration gathered around 1,000 participants.
The program began with a guided tour of the ShymQala complex, where guests had the opportunity to learn more about the city’s rich history and ancient architecture. Afterwards, participants enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Shymkent’s main attractions aboard the Red Bus tourist bus.
During the tour, professional guides shared fascinating insights into the city’s cultural heritage and historical landmarks.
The event also welcomed foreign tourists — about 150 guests from South Korea, China, Russia, Belgium, and Spain, who explored Shymkent’s historical and cultural sites with great interest.
The main goal of the event was to promote Shymkent’s cultural and historical potential, support local brands, and enhance the city’s tourism appeal.
