On January 30-31, 2025, a presentation of Shymkent’s tourism potential was held at higher educational institutions in Almaty, and special tours for students were also offered. During the meetings, a presentation of eight festivals that will be held this year in Shymkent was held, which aroused great interest among young people.
The event was attended by students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU), Almaty Management University (AlmaU), Almaty University of Engineering and Technology, Turan University and the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism.
The Visit Shymkent Tourist Information Center has considered the possibility of providing students of these universities with discounts on accommodation in Shymkent hotels, as well as free access to the city’s tourist sites.
In addition, agreements were reached with the university authorities and bilateral documents were signed as part of attracting students to Shymkent. The first group of students will arrive in the city in March.
Work in this direction will be continued at the universities of Astana.
