The Sairam Museum was established in April 1992 on the initiative of historian Professor M. Mirkhaldаrov.
The museum’s collection comprises approximately 9,000 artifacts, and its exhibition consists of 10 halls.
“Archaeology” Exhibition Hall: This hall displays ancient ceramic vessels uncovered from underground, fragments of hearths used in making medicinal containers, and other tools. The collection of ceramic pots, utensils, and work implements provides valuable insight into the ancient history and culture of the region.
“Economy of Isfijab City” Exhibition Hall: This hall features portraits of the Kokand Khans and examples of traditional women’s clothing (paranja) from that period. Additionally, it exhibits tools, iron scales used in trade, and documents and photographs reflecting political and social events in Sairam during the 1930s–1940s, as well as the lives of prominent historical figures.
“Life of Resettled Slavs” Exhibition Hall: The hall presents the customs, musical instruments, traditional livelihoods, decorative and applied arts, and everyday objects of Slavic communities who settled in the region.
“Independence” Exhibition Hall: This hall features photographs and documents about the December 1986 events in Almaty, where Kazakh youth protested against the Soviet colonial and authoritarian system. It also presents information on achievements following Kazakhstan’s independence.
“Nature” Exhibition Hall: This hall exhibits animals and birds listed in the Red Book, mountain rocks, and a collection of medicinal plants.
“Kazakh Ethnography” Exhibition Hall: This hall showcases the spiritual life, customs, and daily activities of the Kazakh people from early times. Exhibits include household items, various decorative objects, parts of yurts, traditional clothing, utensils, and furniture. Items from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as jewelry, household furnishings, and ceremonial artifacts, are also displayed.
“World War II” Exhibition Hall: This hall is dedicated to veterans and heroes from Sairam who served in the Soviet Army. It includes uniforms, medals, documents, and personal belongings of about 100 soldiers, accompanied by historical photographs.
“Uzbek Ethnography” Exhibition Hall: This hall highlights the spiritual and cultural traditions of the Uzbek people, their customs, daily life, household items, various decorative objects, traditional clothing, textiles, utensils, and musical instruments.
“Labor Veterans” Exhibition Hall: The hall displays photographs, orders, medals, documents, and letters of appreciation honoring prominent labor veterans, including S. Dosmetov, O. Zhamalov, N. Yuldashev, Zh. Ayazbaev, S. Mirsultanova, S. Yuldashev, N. Suleimanov, Kh. Abdukadirova, Sh. Dosmetov, Yu. Madiev, and T. Khaytmetov.
“Historical Sites” Exhibition Hall: This hall features photographs of architectural monuments in the Sairam area, including the Ibrahim Ata Mausoleum, Karashash Ana Mausoleum, Mirali Baba, and Abdel Aziz Baba Mausoleums. In addition, the hall houses Arabic manuscripts such as Nasabnama and the Qur’an.
